When dianosing a performance issue, you might be asked to send a SQL trace file from the database. The following steps are to be performed by the DBA to capture the Trace file.
1. For a SQL server 2005 or SQL server 2008, run the SQL
server profiler
2. Have a person ready who can login Certify
3. Login to Certify and navigate to the Processes tab (on
the right hand side)
4. Start the trace log in SQL profiler. Select the SQL trace template (as shown below).
5. Open the Worksoft Certify process in question (By selecting the
process and double clicking it).
6. After the process steps are shown (which takes about 1
- 2 mins)
7. Stop the SQL profiler and save the trace file
8. Send Worksoft the trace file.
