Database Maintenance

Certify requires nightly maintenance to ensure optimum application performance.  Your support person can give you the files needed for this.

There are two SQL scripts for which nightly jobs should be created:

  • UpdateStatistics.sql
  • ShrinkDB.sql

These scripts should be executed nightly in the order listed above.

UpdateStatistics.sql can be run on any version of Certify (7.0 or greater) without changes.  It will rebuild all of the table indexes in the Certify database.

Shrink DB.sql can be run on any version of Certify but the database name must be set per database.  You will need to edit the script and replace "DatabaseName" with the actual name of your Certify database.
