Worksoft Customer Conference Rescheduled to Spring 2012

We would like to inform you of an important update regarding the upcoming Worksoft Customer Conference. As many of you are aware, Worksoft will be announcing significant new product enhancements to Certify as well as several other products in our suite in early 2012.

After receiving feedback from some of you about the event, as well as to ensure that we continue to maximize the educational value that you receive by attending, we have rescheduled the conference. It will now be held in the Spring of 2012.

While we will be working on the specific dates and venue in the coming weeks, we do want to assure you that the event will continue to include numerous educational sessions, on both existing and new features, as well as hands-on workshops.

IBM Teams with Worksoft for Automated Testing of SAP® Solutions

- Worksoft Certify and other Products to be Available for Purchase as an Integration to IBM® Rational® Quality Management in the IBM Passport Advantage Program -

ORLANDO, FL (June 6, 2011) - Worksoft®, an innovative provider of automated business process validation and testing solutions, today announced at the IBM INNOVATE 2011 Conference that it has entered into a remarketing agreement with IBM (NYSE: IBM) which allows IBM to resell Worksoft Certify®, the company's flagship automated functional test solution. As part of the agreement, IBM will make Certify available to its customers through its Passport Advantage program system, as well as Certify Impact^TM and Certify Data^TM. The Worksoft products will be made available as an integration to the IBM Rational® Quality Management (QM) suite for testing of environments running SAP® solutions.

"IBM has a long history of helping our customers' maximize the value of their investments in SAP solutions," said Michael Loria, Vice President, IBM Rational Business Development. "Combining Worksoft's automated testing technologies with Rational Quality Manager helps us to accomplish this by offering a seamlessly integrated solution that reduces the cost and time of their business process testing and validation efforts related to SAP solutions."

Worksoft Certify is an automated functional testing solution for lifecycle management and cross-platform business process validation in support of SAP solutions. Using an object-driven approach, Certify eliminates the need for generating scripts or writing testing code. Certify Data automatically identifies and extracts representative SAP data so that it can be directly embedded into Worksoft Certify during test case construction. Similarly, Certify Impact automatically identifies proposed changes to the SAP application, either directly from the transport or through the business process change analyzer in the SAP Solution Manager application management solution, and recommends and executes business process tests based upon them. The combined Worksoft and RQM solution helps IBM customers manage the end-to-end tests of their business processes, lowering the costs and risks associated with deploying new SAP functionality or application updates.

Today's announcement extends the relationship between Worksoft and IBM. For the past two years, Worksoft has been an IBM Rational Business Partner, and the Certify product has received its Ready for IBM Rational Software validation as well. The Worksoft products are integrated with IBM Rational Quality Manager, and may be used in combination with IBM's other change, defect tracking and testing tools to help ensure quality in any customized SAP application landscape.

My new year’s resolution for spring is to make sure we do a better job of communicating our plans as well as soliciting input from our users. Toward this end we announced the formation of a customer advisory board during our last user group meeting at Tech Ed in Las Vegas.

I am happy to announce that the customer advisory board has been set up with representatives from Intel, IBM, Monsanto & Bombardier with the first meeting scheduled for April 4^th, 2011 in Dallas. We are also putting in place a mechanism to allow users to vote on features that they would like to see in upcoming Certify releases. The customer advisory board will publish the initial list of features on the community site, where users will then have the option to assign priority points to the ones that they like best. The initial customer advisory board membership was determined by Worksoft, but in the future customers will get to nominate and vote on who represents them on the customer advisory board for one year terms.

We have made a few changes recently to the web site, adding a section on the home page titled “What our customers test” highlighting the breadth of applications that are being tested by our users. Check it out, and tell us what you think.

If you don’t know what Solution Manager is, lucky you, you can skip this section and move on to other things :) We are giving away a utility that allows you to define the business process hierarchy in Microsoft Excel and then generate the files required to import it into SAP Solution Manager, simplifying the process of getting an initial business blueprint set up in Solution Manager if you do not already have one. You can also generate the business process hierarchy from Worksoft Certify if you have your tests organized by business process. Talking about Solution Manager, version 7.1 is due to go into ramp-up starting April. Solution Manager 7.1 has a lot of interesting new features and is definitely worth looking at. We did a webcast on this topic recently which you can view here. If you plan to be a Solution Manager 7.1 ramp up customer and need help getting Certify set up or have questions on best practices, please contact Rick Thorn (rthorn@worksoft.com).

Finally, I’d like to solicit some input on a topic that we have been thinking about a lot lately, which is, What is the best way to communicate the value of automation to the business? We all know that automation is a strategic asset, and not simply a way to cut down the time it takes to do regression testing. For example, what value do you put on the ability to innovate faster and out maneuver the competition? My next blog will focus more on this topic, and I will incorporate any comments that come in.
